KDDI CORPORATION and OKINAWA CELLULAR TELEPHONE COMPANY began offering the "Mobile Phone --> au Smartphone Discount" and "Kakeho Discount 60" to make smartphone use more economical from Nov.16,2018.

"Mobile Phone --> au Smartphone Discount" is available to customers currently using a mobile device compatible with the au CDMA 1X WIN service or a device of another brand, and switching to an au smartphone model. When customers eligible for this discount enroll in an "au Adjust Plan" (Kakeho Unlimited Calling Plan or Super Kakeho Unlimited Calling Plan S), they can receive a monthly discount of ¥1,000 for 12 months, enabling them to receive "au Adjust Plan" (Super Kakeho Unlimited Calling Plan S) service from only ¥980 per month for the first year.

With "Kakeho Discount 60", customers 60 or older using eligible au smartphone devices can enroll in "au Adjust Plan" (Kakeho Unlimited Calling Plan) at a permanent monthly discount of ¥1,000. This enables customers eligible for both "Mobile Phone --> au Smartphone Discount" and "Kakeho Discount 60" to have access to domestic calling service 24-hours a day through "au Adjust Plan" (Kakeho Unlimited Calling) from only ¥980 per month (for a 12-month period).

    Upon enrolling in an "au Adjust Plan" (Kakeho Unlimited Calling or Super Kakeho Unlimited Calling Plan S), customers who meet the eligibility conditions can receive a monthly discount of ¥1,000 for a 12-month period beginning the month after enrollment. [Jump to the applicable section2]

2. Summary of Kakeho Discount 60

  • (1)

    Benefits

    Upon enrolling in an "au Adjust Plan" (Kakeho Unlimited Calling), customers who meet the eligibility conditions can receive a permanent monthly discount of ¥1,000 beginning the month after enrollment.

    Conditions of eligibility

      Any purchase of an eligible device simultaneous with new contract enrollment, an au device upgrade, or when switching from a device of another brand.

    However, please note that for customers who have completed the purchase of a compatible device prior to the first day of service, these benefits will apply beginning with their February 2019 service use, as long as they are 60 or older [Jump to the applicable section7] as of the end of January 2019, and are enrolled in an "au Adjust Plan" (Kakeho Unlimited Calling).
