No.2013-182
October 2,2013
On December 1, 2013, KDDI and Okinawa Cellular will launch the au Smart Value mine service, which strengthens the au Smart Value service by enabling even single-person household customers to save on their monthly au smartphone usage fees.
The au Smart Value service, which was launched by KDDI and Okinawa Cellular on March 1, 2012, enables customers living with family members at the same address to cut their au smartphone costs by using their smartphones in combination with an eligible fixed-line communications service provider. By working with WiMAX service providers to offer the au Smart Value mine service, KDDI is able to meet an even wider range of customer needs, including those in single-person households.
With the au Smart Value mine service, customers can combine an au smartphone contract with a Wi-Fi WALKER WiMAX2+ contract, for a discount of up to ¥980 (tax included) per month [1] from their au smartphone usage fees. This mobile router is capable of ultra-high speed WiMAX2+ communications, and it enables users to comfortably browse the Internet while at home or away, without having to perform any installation or worry about any speed constraints imposed based on the amount of communications used in a month.
