March 31,2017
KDDI announces the adoption of the KDDI Green Plan 2017-2030, its Fourth Environmental Conservation Plan, covering the years 2017 to 2030. With this plan, KDDI continues to pursue three priorities: climate action, creating a recycling-oriented society, and the conservation of biodiversity.
As a part of its climate action, KDDI has established its own CO2 emission reduction target of a 7% reduction in fiscal year 2030 compared to fiscal year 2013 (based on long term targets adopted in the Paris Agreement under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change at the 21st session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 21) in 2015* and Japan's national Climate Action Plan).
KDDI aims to achieve these targets and further contribute to global environmental protection.
About KDDI's environmental conservation efforts
Since 2012 adoption of the Third Medium-term Environmental Conservation Plan, KDDI has been promoting climate action, a recycling-oriented society, and the conservation of biodiversity guided by one of KDDI's management principles: business operation in harmony with the global environment. That Plan is based on the KDDI Environmental Charter, which articulates guidelines for efforts as a Group to conserve and protect the Earth's irreplaceable environment so that it can be inherited by future generations.
