1. About the Super Upgrade Campaign

    Overview

    The benefit is applicable if you purchase an eligible model through an installment contract (24 months) and subscribe to the Upgrade Program (¥300/month) during the campaign.
    When you change to a new model after 12 months of use, you can enjoy the Upgrade Program benefit [1] by paying the ¥2,000 advanced use charge [2].

      The conditions are the same as the existing Upgrade Program. Of the installments (24 months) during the second to the 25th month after the purchase of models, payments for seven months, the 19th to 25th months (the 18th to 24th payments), are essentially free.

      Changing to a new model during the 13th to 18th months requires a charge for advanced use of the benefit. Customers who purchase the iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus by December 31, 2015 do not need to pay the advanced use charge.

  • <Usage of the Upgrade Program>

    • (1)
      When changing to a new model during the 13th to 18th months (Super Upgrade Campaign)
      • Payment of advanced use charge (¥2,000) [2] waives the outstanding installment balance for the previous model [1].
    • (2)
      When changing to a new model in the 19th month
      • The outstanding installment balance for the previous model is waived.
    • (3)
      When changing models at any month until the 25th month, the month installments are completed, without changing models by the 19th month
      • The outstanding installment balance for the previous model is waived.
      • The program charges paid for the 19th month and the following months before the model is changed are refunded [3].
    • (4)
      When changing models without using the benefit or in the 26th month or after the installments have been completed
      • All the program charges [4] are refunded [3].

        The program charges paid for the previous model before changing models will be transferred to the au WALLET card account.
        Note that the refund is not applicable if models are changed without using the benefit within the 18 months, the program subscription is canceled, the line use right is transferred to others, or use of the line is suspended or canceled.

    Charges
    Upgrade Program charge ¥300/month
    Advanced use charge ¥2,000 [2]
    • Consumption tax is not applied to the program charge or advanced use charge.

    Conditions of application
    • Application to the Upgrade Program is made at the time of purchase of an eligible model under an installment contract (24 months) during the campaign [5].
    • Must be subscribed to one of the following plans: Flat-rate Data 2/3/5/8/10/13; Flat-rate Data 2(V)/3(V)/5(V)/8(V)/10(V)/13(V); LTE Flat; or LTE Flat (V).

      This plan is not applicable to the Upgrade Program (Junior) applied by subscribing to the Junior Smartphone Plan.

    Conditions for the benefit
    • Eligible models must be used for 12 or more months with payment of the advanced use charge (¥2,000) [2] and the model is changed in between the 13th and 18th month.
    • Must be continually subscribed to the Upgrade Program for the model after changing models.
    • The old model must be collected by KDDI or Okinawa Cellular after changing models [6].

      The collected old model must operate normally without trouble, water damage, or any damage as a collection acceptance condition.

    September 18, 2015 to March 31, 2016
  • Consumption tax is not applied to the charges unless otherwise noted.
