KDDI and Okinawa Cellular provide the Upgrade Program, which makes the outstanding installment balance for previous models essentially free when customers have used eligible models for 18 months and change to new models. The Super Upgrade Campaign, which encourages users to change to the latest models after 12 month of use, is also started on September 18, 2015.

If you subscribe to the Upgrade Program during the Super Upgrade Campaign (with a charge of ¥300 per month), you can enjoy the benefit [1] of changing models after 12 months of use [2].

The Upgrade Program is popular among customers since payments for up to seven months [3] of their outstanding installment balance for the previous model are waived. However, customers who use models for 18 months or less cannot enjoy the benefit of changing models. By using this campaign, customers can change models after 12 months of use: 6 months earlier. [1] [2] This is intended to support customers who want to purchase and change to the latest models faster.

    The conditions are the same as the existing Upgrade Program. Of the installments (24 months) during the second to the 25th month after the purchase of models, payments for seven months, the 19th to 25th months (the 18th to 24th payments), are essentially free.

    Using the benefit during the 13th to 18th months after the start of installments costs ¥2,000 as an advanced use charge. However, customers who purchase the iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus by December 31, 2015 do not need to pay the advanced use charge.

    Of the installments from the second to the 25th month, payments for up to seven months, the 19th to 25th months.
  • Consumption tax is not applied to the charges unless otherwise noted.
