―The whole family saves with student discounts and rate plans for every family member―

KDDI and Okinawa Cellular announce a campaign to offer rate discounts for au mobile phones to students and their family members who sign new contracts (including MNP) beginning January 21, 2015.

With this campaign, students who sign up for new contracts (including MNP) and select Flat-rate Data 5/8/10/13 will receive a discount of ¥1,500 (excluding tax) off of their monthly charges for up to two years, with a similar discount offered to students' family members for up to one year (or up to two years in the case of a new contract via MNP). In addition, for students signing up for the LTE Plan or Plan Z Simple, the monthly basic charge of ¥934 will be waived [2] for up to three years, and up to one year for family members (or up to three years in the case of a new contract via MNP).

With a wide range of rate plans to choose from, including Unlimited Voice & Data Freedom and LTE plans, family members can select a plan that best matches how they use their phones, and combined with au Student Discount, the entire family can enjoy special savings.
The au Smart Value discount [3] can also be applied to all plans eligible for the au Student Discount, providing an additional discount of up to ¥2,910 for each line.

For customers who sign up for Student Discount and subscribe to au Smart Pass by March 31, 2015, a separate campaign is being offered that will waive the monthly au Smart Pass information charges through May 2015.
