No.2014-116
July 7,2014
On July 7, 2014, KDDI launched the "au loves Ghibli" campaign in support of the When Marnie Was There x Yohei Taneda Exhibition, which is being held at the Edo-Tokyo Museum from July 27, 2014 (Sun) to September 15, 2014 (Mon). The exhibition coincides with the release of When Marnie Was There, the latest Studio Ghibli movie directed by Hiromasa Yonebayashi (in theaters nationwide on July 19, 2014 (Sat)).
The campaign enables customers to use their smartphones to enjoy the "Mitsumeru Ghibli-Ten (Special website of Ghibli)" website. This website enables customers to experience the When Marnie Was There x Yohei Taneda Exhibition and Ghibli-no-Rittaikenzoubutsu-Ten (Exhibition of Ghibli) , which feature large-scale art installations that recreate the worlds depicted in Ghibli movies. In addition, a variety of tickets and other gifts such as cute Totoro and Kodama LINE stamps [1] are offered through the "Ghibli-no-Mori (Forest of Ghibli) " website, which features official Studio Ghibli written content available exclusively to au Smart Pass subscribers. The campaign provides users with numerous opportunities to experience the world of Ghibli movies both online and in-person.
Furthermore, KDDI is conducting the TOHO Cinemas au WALLET campaign, which enables customers to accumulate 10 times more points than usual [2] for purchases made using au WALLET Card electronic money at TOHO Cinemas (operated by TOHO Cinemas Ltd.) across Japan. This campaign provides au users an opportunity to enjoy When Marnie Was There with even greater savings.
