From March 2016, KDDI and Okinawa Cellular Telephone Company will release the au WALLET Charge Card, which allows users to charge an au WALLET Prepaid Card, and the Data Charge Card, which allows users to gift data amounts that can be used by 4G LTE smartphones and tablets. These cards will be available at au shops nationwide.
au WALLET Charge Cards will be available in amounts of ¥1,000, ¥3,000, and ¥5,000, which anyone can easily purchase at au shops nationwide and can be used in a variety of ways such as a gift between friends, a gift from parents to children or grandparents to grandchildren, a beginning-of-the-school-year gift, a birthday gift, or even be used in place of an allowance.
The au WALLET Prepaid Card is a prepaid card available to anyone that does not require credit approval, has not issuing fees, and no annual membership fees. People of any age can use the card for shopping at convenience stores, supermarkets, and other locations. Another feature of the card is the ability to be widely used as a payment method for online shopping and music and video content without needing to worry about overusing the card, a feature used mainly by college-aged customers which has a low rate of credit card ownership.
Furthermore, the Data Charge Card, which is a card that can be used to add data amounts than can be used for 4G LTE smartphones and tablets, will be available in amounts of 1.5GB, 3GB, and 5GB.
KDDI and Okinawa Cellular will continue to expand the availability of valuable gift cards that meet the needs of customers.
