KDDI and Okinawa Cellular have announced plans to conduct seven campaigns to commemorate the launch of the au WALLET service, which will offer a variety of benefits to customers. For example, every customer who applies for an au WALLET Card on or after May 8, 2014 will receive ¥1,000 in credit added to their card, and the au WALLET Debut Campaign will offer every customer a chance to win one of 10,000 prizes worth ¥40,000 in card credit (total prize value of campaign: ¥400 million).

1. Details of benefits

(1) Save by applying

Every customer who applies for an au WALLET Card during the campaign period receives ¥1,000 in credit added to their card, so that they can immediately use the au WALLET service as soon as they receive the card.
In addition, all customers will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win one of 10,000 prizes worth ¥40,000 in card credit (total prize value of campaign: ¥400 million).

<Campaign 1>

Name au WALLET Card ¥1000 Sign-up Bonus Campaign
Description Each customer who applies for an au WALLET Card receives ¥1,000 in credit added to their card. [1]

Eligibility All customers who apply for an au WALLET Card during the campaign period.

<Campaign 2>

Name au WALLET Debut Campaign
Description Each customer is entered into a drawing for a chance to win one of 10,000 prizes worth ¥40,000 in card credit (total prize value of campaign: ¥400 million). [2]

Eligibility Winners are selected at random from customers who apply for an au WALLET Card during the campaign period.

    • Customers who apply for an au WALLET Card during the campaign period are automatically eligible for this campaign. All customers receive ¥1,000 in credit added to their card. (The credit should be applied within two weeks of application.) However, customers will not be eligible to receive the prize if the target service (au mobile phone, au Hikari, au Hikari Chura) has been canceled before the prize is awarded.
    • The maximum total amount that can be stored on an au WALLET Card is ¥100,000, but that amount can be exceeded when receiving the ¥1,000 from this campaign.

    • 5,000 winners will be selected in each of the May and June drawings. Each selected winner will receive ¥40,000 in credit added to their au WALLET Card. A winner will have his or her prize canceled if the ¥40,000 cannot be added to their au WALLET Card because the target service (au mobile phone, au Hikari, au Hikari Chura) was canceled.
    • The maximum total amount that can be stored on an au WALLET Card is ¥100,000, but that amount can be exceeded when receiving the ¥40,000 prize from this campaign.
    • Under provisions stipulated in the Act against Unjustifiable Premiums and Misleading Representations, winners selected in this campaign may become ineligible to receive prizes through other campaigns conducted during the same period.

    Details of campaign period
    For May drawing: Applications received between 1:00 PM on May 8, 2014 and 11:59 PM on May 31, 2014
    For June drawing: Applications received between 12:00 AM on June 1, 2014 and 11:59 PM on June 30, 2014
    * An au WALLET Card application made at a shop must be submitted during the business hours of that shop.
  • To apply for an au WALLET Card at the same time as applying for a new au contract or model change, the application must be submitted at an au Shop, PiPit, or au retailer.
  • To apply only for an au WALLET Card, the application can be submitted at an au Shop or PiPit.

    * Please note that during the campaign period, the website for au WALLET Card applications will be temporarily unavailable at the time indicated below.
    Expected period of unavailability: From 10:00 PM on May 20, 2014 to 10:00 AM on May 21, 2014

(2) Save by charging

Customers who charge their au WALLET Card during the campaign period can receive a bonus of up to 15% [4] added to the amount that they add.

<Campaign 3>

Name au WALLET Charge Campaign
Description All customers who charge their au WALLET Card during the campaign period receive a bonus of 10% added to the amount that they add. [5]

Eligibility All customers who charge their au WALLET Card during the campaign period.
  • The maximum amount that can be added at one time is limited to ¥25,000. [6]

<Campaign 4>

Name Jibun Bank Premium Charge Campaign
Description When charging the card from a Jibun Bank account, a 5% bonus is added to amounts of ¥5,000 or more. [7]
Period May 21, 2014 to December 31, 2014
Eligibility Customers who use their Jibun Bank account to charge their card with an amount of ¥5,000 or more at a time, during the campaign period. [8]

    This is the maximum combined percentage when the bonuses from both campaigns 3 and 4 apply.

    This is available only the first time that a charge is made for an au ID during the campaign period. The bonus amount is added to the au WALLET card on the month after the first charge is made. The 10% bonus does not apply when using WALLET points or au points to charge the card, nor does it apply to amounts received through the au WALLET Card ¥1000 Sign-up Bonus Campaign or the au WALLET Debut Campaign.

    The maximum amount that can be added at one time varies depending on the charge method. The maximum amounts are ¥20,000 when charging with au Kantan Kessai (Easy Payment), and ¥25,000 when charging from a Jibun Bank account or credit card, or at an au Shop.

    The maximum amount that can be stored on an au WALLET Card is ¥100,000. The card cannot be charged if the added amount, including the bonus received through this campaign, puts the card's total amount over the ¥100,000 limit.

    This bonus is available for up to 10 charges per month.

(3) Save by earning points

During the campaign period, customers can accumulate more points for greater savings by visiting au Shops across Japan, or by using an au WALLET Card at Seven-Eleven stores.
au Smart Pass subscribers can receive additional bonus points by shopping with their au WALLET Card.

<Campaign 5>

Name au WALLET Welcome Campaign
Description Customers who place their au WALLET Card on a dedicated reader at an au Shop have the chance to win randomly awarded prizes of up to 3,000 points. [9]
Period June 2, 2014 to December 31, 2014
Points Randomly awarded prizes range from 5 to 3,000 points.
Eligibility All customers with an au WALLET Card (except those that have been canceled).

<Campaign 6>

Name Seven-Eleven x au WALLET Campaign
Description Customers can receive 10 points for every ¥200 spent using their au WALLET Card at Seven-Eleven stores across Japan during the campaign period.
Period June 1, 2014 to June 30, 2014

Eligibility All customers who use their au WALLET Card at Seven-Eleven stores in Japan.
  • The campaign may not be available at some stores.

<Campaign 7>

Name Bonus Points for au Smart Pass Subscribers
Description Monthly bonus points are awarded to au Smart Pass subscribers who spend more than a specified monthly amount using their au WALLET Card.

Eligibility All au Smart Pass subscribers who spend at least ¥10,000 in a month using their au WALLET Card.

    Customers may try to win up to one time per day, and three times per month.

    Points at Seven-Eleven are ordinarily (outside the campaign period) earned at a rate of 2 points per ¥200.

    The end of the campaign period has not yet been determined. The end date and details of other changes will be provided in advance on the au Smart Pass website or the au WALLET service website.

    The monthly spending amount will be calculated each month during the campaign, and if a bonus is earned for a month, it will be awarded the following month.
