Verizon customers may now get access to high-quality HD voice services on KDDI's 4G network while traveling in Japan. In June 2016, the two companies signed a Voice over LTE (VoLTE) roaming agreement that enabled KDDI customers visiting the United States to enjoy VoLTE service on Verizon, America's most reliable network.

In 2015, KDDI became one of the first Japanese wireless companies to offer foreign travelers VoLTE service. Verizon customers who visit Japan have access to superior quality communications with family and friends, by using their HD voice roaming capable phone to call other HD voice capable devices.

KDDI plans to expand the types of wireless services it offers to foreign customers in an effort to improve customer satisfaction among the increasing number of foreign visitors to Japan.

KDDI Corporation is a leading Japanese telecommunications and a Global Fortune 300 company. Serving 40 million domestic mobile subscribers, KDDI provides a diverse portfolio consisting of managed networks, data centers, cloud, security and system integration.
