To enable climbers to enjoy climbing Mt. Fuji in safety and without worry, KDDI is expanding coverage of the summit of Mt. Fuji from July 5, 2016, to coincide with the start of the climbing season and expectations of heavy use of smartphones and mobile phones.
4G LTE communications are available throughout the year at the trail heads and on the trails.

This year area quality will be enhanced on the Prince Trail connecting the Fujinomiya Trail and the Gotemba Trail.
In addition, with the cooperation of the owners of the mountain huts, rest stops and other buildings, KDDI will install relay equipment to improve telecommunications quality and expand area coverage.

At KDDI we listen intently to customers' views. We will further expand area coverage and improve telecommunications quality in tourist destinations, shopping districts and life-flows, in support of safe, reliable and enjoyable smartphone use.

  • Subashiri Trail (mountain huts, trail head, trail)

2. Service availability period

  • Communication services are available throughout the year at the trail heads and on the trails.

    Depending on the signal strength, 3G communications may or may not be available.

    Coverage will be expanded to the areas around the mountain huts on the summit in early July. Communication services are not available on the entire length of the Ohachimeguri Trail.

    The availability period at the summit and the mountain huts may vary depending on changes in the start of the climbing season or the period when the mountain huts are in business, or due to the weather or work progress.
