New Super Kakeho! KDDI adds fixed rate domestic calling plan for ￥1,700 a month to Unlimited Voice & Tiered Data

1. Overview

Super Kakeho (Unlimited Calling Plan S) allows unlimited free domestic calling for calls of five minutes or less with payment of only the monthly basic charge [1]. By combining the plan with the Flat-rate Data 3/5/8/10/13 service, users can choose the best plan for their needs.
With Super Kakeho (Unlimited Calling Plan S), if the call lasts longer than five minutes, the duration of the call beyond five minutes will be charged at the rate of ¥20 per 30 seconds. However, calls between family members when subscribed to the Family Discount + Everybody Discount or to home when subscribed to (free) au→My Home Discount will be free even if the call exceeds five minutes.

  Flat-rate voice calls with Super Kakeho (Unlimited Calling Plan S) do not apply to voice calls to phone numbers starting with 0180, 0570 or other numbers that are charged by other carriers, voice calls to directory assistance (104), 1XY administration number services (188/189), SMS transmissions, voice calls to satellite phones/ship satellite phones, and voice calls to phone numbers separately determined by KDDI. Also, the Super Kakeho plan does not apply to international calls and calls made to and from overseas.

2. Charges

  The amounts shown are the discount rates for up to two years. After two years, the discount will be ¥934/month permanently.

• Super Kakeho (Unlimited Calling Plan S) is the rate plan for 4G LTE smartphones.
• Rate plans/flat-rate data services for au VoLTE are indicated by a “V” at the end of the name.
• Subscription to both Super Kakeho (Unlimited Calling Plan S) and the Flat-rate Data 3/5/8/10/13 service is required. LTE NET (¥300/month) or another internet connection service is required.
• The Everybody Discount contract is renewed automatically in two-year units. In the case of contract termination or temporary suspension or discontinuation of the Everybody Discount during the contract period, a contract cancellation fee of ¥9,500 is incurred (excluding the month of renewal). Unless you specify that you wish to cancel the discount service, it will be renewed automatically for another two years.
• iPhone Data Increase Campaign for an extra 1GB/month of data quantity for up to 13 months applies to this plan.
• If the total amount of communications in a month exceeds the data quantity for that month, the maximum communication speed for sending and receiving until the end of that month will be restricted to 128 kbps. (The communication speed restriction will be removed on the first day of the following month.) By purchasing data quantity using the Data Charge service, you can use data communications without any communication speed restriction.
• To avoid network congestion, if you are using a 4G LTE smartphone, a limit will be placed on the communication speed for a whole day if you have used more than 3GB over the previous three days (not including the day on which the restriction is applied). The restricted speed fluctuates depending on the congestion level.
• All of the indicated amounts exclude tax unless otherwise specified.
