KDDI announces au Summer 2015 tablet models consisting of au's first original tablet and the latest Xperia (TM) tablet

• Compatible with the Incoming Call Notification function that allows this tablet to let you know missed calls and unread SMS/Emails of your smartphone. Furthermore, au Smartphone Screen Link displays the screen of your smartphone on the tablet screen and allows you to operate it from the tablet. This feature is convenient when your smarphone is being charged or it is in your briefcase out of your reach.
• This model can control the camera in a smartphone as well. You can take a selfie with your smartphone by checking with the tablet.
• Compatible with the Transfer View function that allows you to continue to see on this tablet the contents that you were seeing on your smartphone.

1. Function of au Share Link

  Incoming Call Notification

  • Incoming Call Notification displays the notifications for incoming calls, missed calls, unread emails (@ezweb.ne.jp) and SMS messages that your smartphone is receiving or received on your tablet.
  • The notification includes caller's phone number and email address/subject, and is obtained without picking up your smartphone.

  Smartphone Screen Link

  • Your tablet retrieves the screen of your smartphone and displays it so that you can browse and operate it from your tablet. You can check new emails or enjoy the contents in your smartphone with your tablet even when your smarphone is being charged or it is in your briefcase out of your reach.
  • In addition to the window mode, the tablet can display in the full screen mode. You will appreciate the full-screen viewing of your smartphone contents with your tablet.

  Transfer View

  • If you click the au Share Link app in the Share Menu on your tablet, it lets your smartphone transfer the URL information of the website and the photos you were browsing on your smartphone to the tablet to allow you to resume browsing. Photos saved in your smartphone can be transferred to your tablet, too.

  [About water resistance and dust resistance] Be sure the caps are securely fastened. Do not immerse the unit in ocean, pool, or hot spring water. Do not place the unit on the sand. IPX5 means that the unit will retain its functionality as a phone even if blasted with water projected at all angles through a 6.3mm diameter nozzle at a flow rate of approximately 12.5 liters per minute for more than 3 minutes from a distance of approximately 3 meters. IPX7 means that water will not leak inside and the unit will retain its functionality as a phone even if gently immersed in a tank of still tap water at room temperature at a depth of 1.5 meters and placed on the bottom for approximately 30 minutes. IP5X means that the unit will retain its functionality as a phone and safety even if placed in an environment of agitated dust for 8 hours, and the test dust (diameter of 75μm or smaller) remains in the unit.
