From December 18, 2014, KDDI CORPORATION (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Takashi Tanaka; hereafter "KDDI") and RICH MEDIA CO., LTD. (Head office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Kozo Sakamoto; hereafter "RICH MEDIA") will begin their business partnership through au WALLET and au Smart Pass.
This partnership will be a new point of contact for beauty salons, nail salons, and other brick-and-mortar stores repeatedly used by customers in their daily lives, and promote the effort for fusing the net and reality for the beauty service market, which is said to be a market of approximately ¥1.5 trillion [1].

RICH MEDIA operates KamiMado, a site where users can search for and make reservations at over 8,000 beauty salons and nail salons nationwide, and have access to various beauty columns. They also operate SKINCARE UNIVERSITY, which offers beauty media that is supervised by over 180 physicians. The number of users accessing these sites is currently growing with the main users being females ages 20 to 50.

Through this business partnership, au customers [2] can earn WALLET Points equaling 1% of their reservation amount by using KamiMado to make a reservation [3]. Also, by paying with au WALLET at beauty salons listed on KamiMado as au WALLET Extra Point Stores, customers can earn even more au WALLET Points than they would at regular stores in accordance with their payment amount [4].

Furthermore, along with a campaign [5] that offers au Smart Pass members a ¥1,000 discount on the price of treatments when making a reservation from KamiMado, from November 27, 2014, KDDI has been posting beauty columns distributed on the KamiMado and SKINCARE UNIVERSITY sites on au Smart Pass.

KDDI entered into a capital tie-up with RICH MEDIA in July 2014 through the KDDI Open Innovation Fund managed by Global Brain Corporation (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO, Yasuhiko Yurimoto).
By linking the services of both companies, KDDI and RICH MEDIA will continue to provide au customers with services so that they can pass each day more conveniently and save more money.
