No.2014-184
October 27,2014
In conjunction with expansion of the number of point advantage stores offering the au WALLET service, from November 1, 2014, KDDI and Okinawa Cellular will launch a campaign in collaboration with Seven-Eleven Japan.
To promote the convenience and user-friendliness of au WALLET Cards and au WALLET Credit Cards, York Benimaru, a supermarket operating in the Tohoku and Kita-Kanto area, York Mart, which operates in the Minami-Kanto area, and Sunshine, which operates in Kochi prefecture, will join the line-up of point advantage stores where users can earn more WALLET points than at regular stores [1]. This will bring the number of point advantage stores to 24 companies and approximately 22,000 stores. (As of end of November 2014)
An additional advantage is that users will also be able to select to use their au WALLET Credit Card to charge their au WALLET Card [2].
The "7-Eleven x au au WALLET Campaign" will be launched on November 1, 2014, in collaboration with Seven-Eleven whose stores have recorded the highest use of au WALLET Cards [3] since the service was launched in May 2014.
The au WALLET Card has proved hugely popular since its launch in May 2014 with applications reaching 6.6 million (as of October 20, 2014).
KDDI and Okinawa Cellular aim to expand cooperation with community-based partner corporations in addition to partnerships with companies with chain stores across the country so that au WALLET Card and au WALLET Credit Card users can enjoy greater convenience and benefits.
