KDDI and Okinawa Cellular have announced plans to release the au Basic Home app for au Android (TM) smartphones in late May 2014. The au Basic Home app is designed to provide more intuitive smartphone operations for all levels of smartphone users, from beginner to advanced, by arranging frequently used apps on the Home screen and simplifying operations such as adding and deleting apps and widgets.

The app, which was developed based on the opinions of customers who already use an Android (TM) smartphone, as well as those who have considered purchasing one, keeps the positive aspects of the Android (TM) smartphone experience while making improvements. Visibility is improved by arranging frequently used apps on the Home screen, and operability is improved by integrating the complicated-looking App Drawer with the Home screen. In addition, the app provides a consistent experience across different user interfaces on various devices, enabling users to enjoy the same operational feel even if they change smartphone models.
