KDDI and Okinawa Cellular have employed Morning Musume '14 and Tsunku as new promotional figures for the au Student Discount campaign, which features a new series of commercials that began airing on January 14, 2014.
For the new commercials, Miyuki Oshima and Kazuko Kurosawa of the female comedy trio Mori San Chu, who have appeared in previous au commercials, have joined forces with Morning Musume '14 to form a new group, called Mori Musu.
The au Student Discount campaign, which began on January 16, 2014, provides newly subscribing student customers and their families free au mobile phone basic charges for up to 3 years [1]. In addition, for those who also subscribe to au Smart Pass, the Smart Pass monthly information charge is waived through December 2014 [2]. With the combined discounts, four different fees are provided free of charge.
Furthermore, student customers and their families can also subscribe to au Smart Value and receive an additional ¥1,410 (tax excluded) per month discount from their au smartphone usage fees for up to 2 years, making this au's greatest discount campaign ever.
In the new commercials, Mori Musu aims to be the greatest idol group ever by combining the Morning Musume '14 idol group with the Mori San Chu comedy team. In similar fashion, the au Student Discount campaign aims to provide the greatest discount ever by combining the au Student Discount with au Smart value.
